emily, south texas ice skate academy is based out of laredo last thing i heard. but if you ned to join a great skating club that has a wonderful big brother big sisiter program as well as community involvement activities you are at the correct website!!!

I am Hailie's Great Aunt from Salina, Kansas. I was so happy when I was told that I could get on here and see what was happening with the Club and the members. I got to watch Hailie compete for the first time in Wichita on Saturday, June 14th. I enjoyed it so much, she is a good skater. Hello everyone!
I am new figuring skating! I love skating, especially on the ice! It's so much fun! I have been skating most of my life and just started ice skating in 2003. I started taking lessons on learning how to figure skate earlier this year. Hope to be able to take more lessons to move up to the next level. I would like to give ice dance a try. Sounds like fun! One day I hope to be able to compete!

Hello! I just saw Phyliss's post and knew I had to say hello! I used to skate at the Crystal Ice Palace WAY back in the day. Phyliss was my coach, as was Stacy! I, too, still seem to know some of the people associated with the SAFSC. I'm not skating anymore, but would love to come see the new rink one day.

I, too agree we need to get some updated photos on the site from the Rampage games. Also where is Cathy Janson's results from Adult Nationals and where is Melissa Cheatwood's (Sppecial Olympics Texas figure skater) NEWS about SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD TEAM USA 2009 announcement? It's fun to check on your website, see who is coaching and look at all the pictures. I used to coach in San Antonio thirteen years ago and my boys were just learning to skate then. I see I still know a couple of the coaches in SA. So a big HI! to them and everyone else from way back. My oldest son, Nathan is in the Army and my youngest son, Matthew and his wife, Jessie are coaches up here in Tulsa. Hope I to see some of you at Skate Dallas.

It has been a pleasure skating here in San Antonio. After our slow start, Johanna and I found our niche in the club. I have skates for sale if anyone is interested- a variety of sizes. I will be happy to meet with parents to fit skates and give advice on brands and their advantages.
Presently, I have sizes 2(3 pairs), 3, 3AAA (high level SP-Teri), 4, Tots 8. Also a pair of hockey skates for a child. Make me a deal! No offer refused!
